FVMCC Invitation camping weekend 2001 Once again we would like to say a big Thank You to all who came.
This year we replicated the format of our 2000 Invitation weekend and revisited
the Amulree Hotel.
Friday afternoon saw the arrival of the very organized with a half dozen
(very organized) folks arriving. Mark, Sue Mary Jocelyn, Craig, Brian and the two blokes from Newcastle.
The evening saw the arrival of Peter, Carol and Andy escorting the two young
lads Ryan, and Nicky on their 50cc machines. Later on Puker arrived after having
finished work in Guildford and riding the 460 miles to Perthshire. After a quick
dinner he set of to pitch his tent then joined the rest in the bar for some well
earned drinks.
Ryan crosses the mountain to Amulree. (ha! who needs a plastic crotch rocket to
get there on time?)
Young Nicky rode up on this 50cc Yamaha Slider.
Ryan
and his RX50.
Craig looks on in envy as Ryan has his free breakfast. Our landlady took pity on
our two young guests after they spent the night sleeping with their tent doors
wide open and waking up in puddles of water.(parents should never get their kids pissed) The lads went into the hotel and
were gifted some warming tea and toast.
(New Boy) Brian, Mary the money, Sue and Jocelyn recuperate on Saturday
morning.

Mary and Sue provide a demonstration with sexual conotations.
The view from our tent. Some kind soul had already cleaned up the
mess from our picnic table by the time I awoke.
Carol
woke at 5 p:m on Saturday and managed some pictures of the tents. (actually she
took 8 in all) If any sad B£"$£&* wants to see them all send me an
email.
Saturday afternoon saw the arrival of another thirty or so guests.
All of whom quickly checked in and began to have a party. The car/bike
park
was the place to be as the sun shone for the only time all weekend
and many bottles of aqua vitae were consumed.
Ross laughs his head off while his dad puts on a brave face. Brian and Ross had
a ride in big John's sidey. As they set off Ross was extatic whilst Brian (a
Fireblade rider) crapped himself.
At the other end of Glen Quaich. Amulree is roughly 7 miles along this
glen. This road is a must if you want to get to the top of a mountain without
walking. Just be prepared to get off the bike and open the many cattle gates
along the route.
Carol makes it to the summit.
As dusk closed in, all returned to the bar and restaurant
for some more elixciers of life and a bite to eat.
WE must thank the hotel staff for coping with an abnormaly large crowd at eating time.
Although it took a while to arrive on the tables the food was excellent.
Carol and Carol.
Only the diehards remain at 2 in the morning. (BTW the debate continued round the picnic table outside as we consumed the remainder of our carry oots and carols special bottle of liquor. "Carolannes".)
Heres some of the bikes that arrived
Jill arrived again from Lancashire but this time she had a new mount. Here she is with Carlton her immaculate VFR750. The old canary (CB400) has
been put out to pasture and is now enjoying a well deserved retirement.
As did john on his new BMW
And last but not least. The Blair Witch arrives at Amulree.
